Celebrating the Winter Solstice
A celebration for the Winter Solstice will be held at “The Castle on the Hill,” on sun. 24th. June, from 10am. to 4pm. The “Daughters of the Goddess” will hostess the day and invite spiritually aware people to participate.
Leave your clocks and schedules behind and tune to cosmic time.
At the time of the Winter Solstice, the Sun becomes still before turning to the South again.
Nature slows down and trees and grasses pull their energy down to the roots deep in mother Earth.
We too can become still, reflecting on the past season.
On this day we will celebrate as ancient peoples of many cultures have before us,
with ceremony and sacred dance.
Bring your own basket lunch. Bring an open heart.
French Cooking Class with Elodie
The May cooking class was cancelled because Elodie had hurt herself in a fall and because the numbers were too low.
So we will repeat the menu for June which is
Soufflé au fromage (cheese soufflé)
Soupe à l’oignon (onion soup)
Tarte Tatin (caramelised apple tart)
Elodie’s cooking classes really work.
Most of us have become more confident with our cooking because she explains things so well.
Her recipes work and one can reproduce them without her being there.
At the next cooking class, she will teach us how to create the above menu from scratch, meaning that you will be taught how to make souffle’s, pastry, caramelise fruits etc.
No cheating and buying ready made pastry etc.
Date: 30th June. Time: 2pm to 6pm, Cost: $35.
